Under each stone is a person who saw, smelled, heard, cried, laughed, felt, whispered, yelled and would trade places with you in a second. In time, even the stone will disappear and that person will be forgotten. Nobody alive today even saw them, or knew about them.
What a wonderful picture. It reflects the feeling of the day, somber, peace, tranquility.
