The former railway station in Campo Marzio, now converted into a museum.
The building was built between 1901 and 1906 and became the terminal station of the Transalpine Railway, which linked Trieste to the Austrian inland, branching off to reach Vienna and Salzburg.
The station still has four railway tracks: some have been cut off and are unused, others house locomotives and trams, and are exhibits in the museum collection.

I really like it when old buildings, which would have been demolished otherwise, are used as museums.
Lovely night, monochrome shot, Rob.
A beautiful image of a beautiful building.
that lovely nit shot! fav**
Interesting, I posted an old steam train photo today and then came to look at your photos, and what do I find but an old railway station - coincidence!
Very stately building. Classic architecture that retains it's beauty.
