This is a nearly universal scene. My wife and I posted a similar scene of women talking an siting on a bench in Casablanca, Morocco on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
I am catching up after a few days away, so please accept my belated congratulations for your one year anniversary.

What a great shot! One of my clients' favorite photo ops are of the old woman chatting on the benches in these Italian villages. Reminds us Italian Americans on Nonna and the Zie back home! :-)

Wonderful photo. This is what I remember of the region. Also shows that Italian women are always stylish, no matter what age.
